BIOS - BIOS stands for basic input/output system. This is the computer's ROM which allows a PC to remember important settings such as where the Operating System is located and what order to boot from. It is also the component that stores information such as Time and Date.
JAILBREAK -A term used to describe gaining superuser rights on an Idevice such as an Ipad, Ipod, Iphone.
Operating System - This is the system or program a PC uses to operate, some examples are Microsoft's Windows, Apple Mac OS X or Linux.

Stock - A term that refers to factory default or not custom.
ROM - Pronounced "Rahm", an acronym for Read-Only Memory where data has been prerecorded. Unlike main memory (RAM) ROM retains its data even when the computer is switched off.
