First thing to do is to research information about all the risks and benefits of rooting an android as you cannot be told if it is a good idea or not, it depends on how you use your phone, how you feel about trusting yourself to do this and how it would benefit you if you did. Rooting an android is mostly used by developers or people who wish to push their mobiles further than usual.
Rooting allows your android to have a lot more of the developing world available such as getting a custom Operating System, or getting android apps that require root access to use certain parts of an android's hardware or system not usually available to the standard user. The second thing you need to do is find the correct method(s) for your as some may not support you android. For some of the well known devices like HTC, Xperia, Samsung galaxy a good method to use could be to use a simple app called "UniversalAndroot" available in the Google Play shop for free or a simple google search for "universal androot apk download" will give you a download link in the first page usually. This app is straight-forward and is really simple to navigate; a screenshot of this app is available below: |
This app works with most well-known devices as stated before. One minor problem is this app only works with android OS V1.5,1.6, 2.1 and 2.2. and the android system used must be stock otherwise you will not be rooted.
